A few of My Favorites

This really is a great list of shows that help people become more intellectual. I even love how they threw in the Keith and the Girl show to mix up the bag a bit. They can be a really smart show if you don’t mind the shock value they try to pile on top. Some of my other favorite shows from their list include Dan Carlins Hardcore History and This American Life.

One of the hottest trending topics recently in the news has been the Vibram FiveFingers. So I thought I would go out and try to find podcasts talking about them, barefoot running and more.. but it was kind of difficult to find!

People are on both sides of the fence on weather or not barefoot running is good or bad for you, and I am experimenting myself as well. I have just bought a pair of these funny little shoes and have been wearing them for a few weeks. So far, I love them… but how do you learn how to use them properly? How do you train to run long distances in them? Where do you learn how to change your running style to not get injured? If you know of a podcast, blog or webpage that teaches these things, leave it in the comments!

Finally, good luck trying to get your hands on a pair of these shoes, they are ONLY available at specialty shoe shops, and even then many sizes are sold out! I had to have mine shipped in from a dealer in a different state, not even the manufacturers website had my size. Maybe you will have better luck, buy your FiveFingers online or find places to buy them from the manufacturer.

I have been listening to and watching podcasts for years, and I have to admit, this one took me by surprise. Maybe it is the artist in me, but after watching 2 minutes of one episode, I was a subscriber!

With over 400 episodes produced (Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday since 2007) Christine shows you altered projects, techniques, products and tools that will bring out the scrapbooker and artist in everyone! And the best part is, the video episodes are about the content (the artwork and techniques) not the host (although she is great)! Freelance Switch Offers Up List of 31 Podcasts for Freelancers

One of the blogs/websites I am a big fan of, Freelance Switch, empowers freelancers around the world. Not only is it a great place to find & promote freelance work, they also work hard to keep their users engaged and up to date with the latest happenings in the independent world (including many resources, an active forum, job boards, a podcast and much more). But lets get on to the reason I am telling you all of this site…

While the folks at Freelance Switch have been podcasting since 2007 (find their podcast here), they have been helping freelancers for even longer. Most recently, they published an article titled 31 Podcasts That Keep Freelancers in the Loop where they highlighted some great podcasts for their loyal site visitors. I was surprised to find out how many of these shows I was actually subscribed to!
