Here is an interesting podcast. A few woman, dressed up as French Maids, teach you (in all their frenchy-goodness) how to do stuff. From what I can tell, there are two episodes available online now. One is how to give CPR the other is on how to create a Video Podcast.
From Their Site:
Here you can find information about each French Maid, watch the French Maid TV episodes as they become available, check out other podcasting sites, and buy some awesome French Maid TV gear. Have a look around and see if anything excites you.
My question here is: is this podcast categorized as Entertainment, or Education? With the links below you can watch an episode of the French Made TV video podcast and see for yourself. While the pretty little ladies in french maid outfits may not be entirely work safe, the content is. They teach you one simple method for creating a video podcast episode using a Macintosh and Quicktime.

Being a graduate of Purdue University, I try to stay in touch a bit with what they have going on. I graduated from the School of Technology and am glad to see the school is still making me proud.
Not to long ago some folks started recording audio of different lectures on Purdues’ campus (over 65 classes) and they are now debating moving on to video as well. Im proud to see the adoption of podcasting as a course delivery mechanism showing up in universities, especially my own. Podcasting has a lot of potential in a university setting (even Apple thinks so) and it will be interesting to see the different companies and communities that develop around them.
In the future Purdue students may be able to watch classes on their iPods in addition to listening to recordings of them.
“We have talked about making it audio and visual,” said Michael Hicks, audio recording technician and BoilerCast operator.
BoilerCast, which was started last semester, is a service that makes digital recordings of class lectures available to students for downloading, streaming or subscribing via special software.
Fifth generation iPods are now able to play video, so students would still be able to carry videos of classes around with them if the service were added to BoilerCast.

From WebWire.com, the internet press release resource, we find out that Yahoo! and Motorola are getting together to provide advanced podcasting support for Motorola cell phones. Subscribe to podcasts directly or drag and drop them from your PC, then listen to the episodes on your cell.
Today at 3GSM World Congress 2006, Motorola, Inc. , a global leader in wireless communications, and Yahoo! Inc. , a leading global Internet company, will demonstrate the use of Yahoo! Podcasts on a mobile device, showcasing the future of how consumers access entertainment on the go.
As part of the continuing Motorola and Yahoo! relationship, this mobile application would allow consumers to not only drag and drop podcasts directly from the PC straight to their mobile phone through the Yahoo! Music Engine, but would also let consumers directly download podcasts over-the-air* to their handset using an integrated application.

While the music side of the Voy site is a streaming Latino radio station, the Podcast section is a bit different. It is the start of a great Latino podcast directory. Currently they seem to have about 19 different podcasts listed, I’m sure this list will grow with time. If you are a Latino Podcaster registration and submission to their site is free. Here is some more info…
Voy, a Latino Media company has just launched a website dedicated to all Latino music. Interestingly the site is entirely in English.
“The majority of Latinos in this country are bilingual or English dominant, and there are millions of non-Latinos who love Latino music.”
The company plans to unveil a website for Spanish and Portuguese speakers in the coming year but it goes to show how music transcends language. I always find it very interesting when I go to Café Tacuba concerts and see myself next to people that don’t know a word of Spanish but are there for the love the music.

An Ebay.com Bidder won 5 advertising spots in the RocketBoom podcast recently. Each ad can be from 15 to 60 seconds and will run once a day for a week. The total winning? $40,000.
WHAT YOU ARE BIDDING ON
Rocketboom is a three minute daily videoblog based in New York City and is one of the most popular video shows on the internet.
For the highest bidder, we will create five original, fifteen second (minimum) – one minute (maximum) post-roll commercials that will span five days of programming, Monday-Friday, March 6 through March 10, 2006. Each day that week a different commercial that we create for your company will be played at the conclusion of the Rocketboom episode.
Rocketboom reaches a minimum of 130,000 people per day and each day’s video, over the course of several days, receives over 200,000 complete views. Thus, the advertisement reach for this auction is currently a minimum of one million views.
The five unique advertisements, along with hyperlinks to your website, will also become a part of our archived web pages. They will remain freely available, searchable, index-able, re-distributable, and on demand. Additionally, direct links to each commercial will be available for at least one year.

Here is another great podcast, one that is entertaining and educational. For those of you who have no idea how to play guitar, this may be the podcast for you. It is a video podcast that seems to be quite amazing. They show you, all in one screen, what the note is, when to change notes, how to hold the guitar, how to strum the guitar, where your fingers should be and more. I have to admit, I was quite blown away when I saw this video podcast series.
In this podcast, you get 35 episodes (for the entry level guitar player) and learn everything from how to hold your guitar, what the different pieces of a guitar are and how to play a few notes to playing entire songs, jamming with a band and how to play transitions! Enjoy.

I know this is a few days late, but none the less…here it is. Amanda from the RocketBoom (video) podcast was on a recent episode of CSI. Thats right, the popular TV Show C.S.I! Congratulations! Thanks to Len from JawBone Radio for posting a link to the video.
I think we may have a winner in our breakout internet celebrity race, none other than Amanda from Rocketboom. She appeared as herself during last night’s CSI and you can’t buy better PR than that. Well done.
Incidentally, I was faked out and thought Amanda was playing the detective earlier in the show. That chick looked a lot like her. Did anyone else think that? Anywho, here’s the appearance. Way to go, guys.

Found this interesting story today when doing my podcast news round up. Seems that Coca-Cola is paying to send bloggers and podcasters from around the world to fly, and stay, in Italy during the Olympics. Seems like a cool idea to me, can’t wait to see what the outcome is…
LONGTIME OLYMPICS SPONSOR COCA-COLA HAS enlisted a half-dozen college students from around the world to blog about their trips to the winter games in Torino, Italy. Adding to its usual marketing efforts during the games, Coke is paying to fly and accommodate young representatives from China, Germany, Italy, Canada, Austria, and the United States–each of whom has agreed to keep their posts positive, according to Coca-Cola spokesman Philipp Bodzenta.
“They understand they we’re looking for the positive side of the Olympics,” said Bodzenta, adding: “They are part of the PR team, but they are not Coke employees.”
Coke, which employs numerous agencies for its online and traditional ad efforts, enlisted Vienna-based Knallgrau New Media Solutions to design and execute the site, “Torino Conversations,” which went live less than 48 hours ago. The streamlined Web site allows for podcasting, the posting of photos, and comments from readers.

Ok, this isn’t really important podcasting news, but I just wanted to pimp the PK & J Show. They wrote and played this funny little song about the Soccergirl Incorporated Podcast a while back that just cracked me up, and they played it again at the VERY begining of their 51st Episode. So, thank you to them for playing that song, congratulations to PK & J for their 50th Podcast Episode, and congratulations to Soccergirl for her 100th Podcast Episode as well!
The PK & J Show
A great-sounding show with two hosts who enjoy each other’s company and love to satirize popular culture. Members of the Religious Right probably won’t like this show.

Well, not only are the advertising (if you call it that) internet and phone service, but they are also putting up billboards featuring the words “blogging” and even “podcasting”.
AT&T is so hip and cool.
Thanks to Joe from A guy, a girl and a bottle podcast for pointing snapping this photo!
